In Sherman, CT

I'm currently at the home of friends in Sherman, CT:  Amanda, Paul, and Anna Chase.  They live .2 miles from the trail and have been gracious enough to host me for a zero day.  I am, once again, being treated like a king while I rest, recover, and resupply for my next leg.  I knew that I wad getting close to their house when I almost bumped my head on a bag of cookies suspended over the trail.




And here is what greeted me as I came up the road from the tail head:



The trip over from Vernon was tough.  There was some difficult terrain, including several hand-and-foot scales up rock faces.  I made good time, though, by getting up early and hiking hard as long as my legs held out.  Most days were >20 mi, so I'm tired.

Tomorrow (Sunday) I plan to head towards Massachusetts.  The next break will be longer and may contain a non-trail adventure.  More on that when the time comes.
