Made It To Damascus!

This morning I hiked the last six miles into Damascus, VA with two companions.  The trip from Elk Park entailed several long efforts, covering 75 miles in just over three days.  While the terrain was easier than north Georgia, it was still a heck of a workout, with hiking starting as early as 6:00 and going as late as 8:00.

I'm tired, but feeling good, otherwise I couldn't be cranking along so fast.

The details of the trip will show up here shortly, but my priority now that I have had breakfast and a shower and a nap is to collect my laundry, and get together with other hikers at dinner.  I'm taking a zero day here tomorrow, and, oddly, have rented an Airstream trailer for a private stay.  Who ever said I was normal?

Sleeping quarters and kitchenette

Red meat and beer for dinner then all the sleep I want.  Posting will happen in there somewhere.

  1. I LOVE Airstreams! No surprise though, right? What a cool place to lay your head.
