DONE!!!

It's official.  As of 11:00 on Friday, August 5th, I've completed The Appalachian Trail.

WOO HOO!!!

The climb up Mt. Katahdin was tough, but fun.  There was some real climbing involved, and the view was spectacular.

The journey was much as I expected it to be, though tougher in some ways.  At times it seemed like it would never end.  I enjoyed it immensely, but I'm happy to be heading home.

Huge thank-you to all of the friends and family who helped make this endeavor into a reality.  I really appreciate all the help.

No plans for another big adventure at the moment, but stay tuned.

  3. Well done sir! Congratulations. I'll do it too just as soon as they pave the AT, including rest areas, restaurants and hotels. May I for your next adventure suggest hitch hiking back to Atlanta. You can then write about that, comparing and contrasting the AT hikers with the lunatics on our interstate highways. Just a thought.

  4. Congratulations on an amazing accomplishment! Filip shared your blog with me and I've enjoyed reading about your preparation and the adventure. As Filip said, most of us can only dream of attempting such a challenge, but you did it! I hope to see you as you pass through on your way to S. Florida. Phi Alpha, Frank P.
